Lighters
Let light shine out of darkness
Exercise care in use
- Ignite lighter away from face and clothing.
- Be sure the flame is out after use.
- May contain flammable gas under pressure.
- Never expose to heat above 120°F (49°C) or to prolonged sunlight.
- Failure to follow instructions can result in serious personal injury.
- Never puncture or put in fire.
- Never leave lighter on the dashboard or rear window of a vehicle.
- Do not keep lit for more than 10 seconds.
- Under no circumstances should the user tamper with the lighter or attempt to adjust, other than by using the controls provided.
Operating Instructions
Jet Flame Lighters
Depress the ignition button to start butane flow and activate the piezo. The piezo will create a spark which will ignite the gas. Use caution, as the flame may not be visible in bright light. To extinguish the flame, release the ignition button. If the flame continues to burn for a few seconds after releasing the ignition button, the flame adjustment is too high and should be adjusted towards the (-) mark.
Flint Lighters
For Flint lighters, opening the cover of the lighter starts the flow of gas. Use your thumb to rotate the flint wheel. This will create a spark that will ignite the gas. To extinguish the flame, close the cover on the lighter and stop the flow of gas. To avoid heat build up, do not use the lighter for an situation that would require a continuous flame for more than 10 seconds. Never touch the burner with your fingers, tools or other smoking material. Serious injury may occur. Performance may also be affected, and the lighter may require service.
Bleeding the fuel tank
- Unless instructed, bleed only when flame begins to drop and the fuel tank is nearly empty.
- Hold the lighter away from face when bleeding the fuel tank.
- Hold the lighter in a vertical, upright position.
- Shake lighter, then repeat to ensure it is completely bled.
All air should be removed from gas tank in order to refill to maximum capacity. Hold the lighter in vertical position and depress filler valve with small screwdriver until all fuel is expelled and the hissing stops. Ignite few time the lighter to release the little storage left within the lighter and set the flame adjuster to the lowest position (-)
Refilling the Fuel tank
- Perform only in a well-ventilated area.
- Never use the lighter near any heat source, sparks or flame.
- No smoking during refilling.
- Be sure to follow the instructions on the butane refill canister.
- Hold away from face when refilling.
- Keep lighter cap closed (if applicable).
- Never attempt to light during the filling or bleeding process.
Refill the lighter in upside down position while pressing down firmly the nozzle tip on the valve for 5 seconds. To check if tanker is filled, hold the lighter vertical upside-down position and depress filler valve with a small screwdriver. If Liquid is expelled stop immediately: the tank is filled to capacity. If the lighter features a fuel level viewing window, a small air bubble will be visible even when tank is full (for safety, lighter gas tank accept only 85%liquid butane capacity).
Warm the lighter in hand for 10 seconds and wait 2 minutes before igniting. This will allow excess butane to evaporate and lighter to reach room temperature. If a hissing sound is heard do not attempt to ignite. Return for service.
How to adjust the flame height
Care and Handling
- Degas before to fill. Use clean gas. Avoid dust and dirt into the burner.
- For long-term reliability, clean the burner chamber periodically with compressed air to keep burner chamber free of dust and carbon build-up, which affects the lighter’s performance.
- Blow out the burn chamber with 3 short bursts of air.
- To keep lighter looking as new, prevent contact with keys, coins or other objects that might scratch the surface of the lighter. Sweat, perfume, solvents and alcoholic substances may also damage the surface of the lighter.
- If lighter is not to be used for a long period of time, flame adjuster should be set to maximum (+). When lighter is in use again, readjust to the desired height.
- Hold the lighter in a vertical, upright position.
- Caution: To avoid damage, the tip of the air canister must be kept away from the lighter’s burner.
- Allow the lighter and the butane gas to reach room temperature before igniting
- Only the mechanism is under warranty as per the warranty policy, the outer surface is not under warranty.

Flame adjustment too high | Lower flame adjustment |
Cutting and Punching
Be careful when using cutters or punches: blades are extremely sharp. WARNING: Keep away from children.
Guillotine/Double-Guillotine: Fold out cutter. Place cigar head in cutter opening and slide blade(s) to cut.
Punch: Depending on lighter model, fold out punch or slide punch out of case and lock into place. Firmly press against end of cigar
Altitude issues with Lighters
Butane lighters are subject to altitude problems. They are a subject to fuel to air ratios that must be met for the lighter to function properly. As you go higher, the air is less dense and contains less oxygen. As you go lower, air density increases and contains more oxygen. You must decrease the butane flow by rotating the fuel adjustment clockwise (-) as you go higher in altitude; and increase the butane flow-rotate adjustment counter clockwise (+) as altitude decreases.
Butane
Be sure to use Colibri Premium Butane, which is specifically designed for all lighters. The canister is pressurized at 45 psi and is the cleanest available.
Use of other brands of butane with unknown levels of contamination and pressure may clog the butane feeding system and affect the performance of the lighter.
Warranty Information
Please refer to the leaflet proper to each brand regarding the time warranty. Warranties solely cover the mechanism of the lighter or cutter to be free from mechanical defects under normal use according to the operating instructions, it does not apply to the outer finish of the lighter or cutter. In case of any mechanical defects please contact us.
